Consider a Clinical Research Study for Plaque Psoriasis

Dermatologists at The Indiana Clinical Trials Center are looking for adults 18 and older to help test the safety and effectiveness of an investigational oral medication for plaque psoriasis.

About the Study

This 24-week long study is testing the safety and efficacy of an investigational treatment to relieve symptoms of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis against a placebo. If you qualify, you may receive all investigational treatment and study related care at no cost. At the end of the study, you may be eligible to participate in a 36-week long term extension study where you are guaranteed to receive the study drug.

You or a Loved One May Qualify if You/They:

Are 18 years of age or older

Have been diagnosed with plaque psoriasis by a doctor at least 6 months ago

Are in generally good health otherwise

There are other qualifications needed for participation in this study. Study staff will discuss them with you after you apply.

What Is Plaque Psoriasis?

Plaque psoriasis is a long-term autoimmune disorder that causes raised and inflamed patches of scaly skin in both localized areas and/or complete body coverage. The most common symptom areas are the elbows, knees, back, and scalp. People living with plaque psoriasis experience itch that affects their overall quality of life and are at higher risk for depression and other mental health disorders. Current treatment options include topical creams, injections, and oral medications.

What Is a Clinical Research Study?

A clinical research study tests the safety and effectiveness of a new medication or treatment in a population of volunteers. Every medical breakthrough goes through the clinical trial process, therefore, participants like you play a very important role in advancing medicine for present and future generations.
